The Government of Pakistan as part of its zero tolerance policy towards illegal migration has passed an act by the Parliament titled “Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants Act 2018”.
The objectives of the Migrant Act 2018 are
i) Preventing / Combating Smuggling of Migrants
ii) Promotion & facilitation of National & International Cooperation
iii) Protection of the Rights of Smuggled Migrants.
The main goal of the act is to deter the human traffickers with punishment ranging upto 14 years in Jail.
