Ministry of Foreign Affairs has inaugurated a ‘Science Diplomacy’ webpage within the existing website of the Ministry. It is meant to supplement Pakistan’s partnerships in Science, technology and Innovation (STI). The initiative is geared toward identifying and strengthening our international collaborations in STI fields, using R&D to help attain Sustainable Development Goals, creating a database of our overseas researchers and promotion of our indigenous S&T products/services with a view to enhancing our high-tech exports.
The webpage includes a round-up of our SD initiative, framing its objectives and providing a one-stop resource of Pakistan’s STI landscape with web links to Higher Education Commission. COVID-19 portal, ongoing R&D projects in Pakistan, relevant Ministries, Regulatory Authorities, research grants available through Pakistan’s scientific organizations and educational institutions engaged in research and innovation.
The webpage also includes select product portfolio brochures from scientific organizations highlighting existing scientific prowess in Pakistan in an effort to project Pakistan’s high-tech products and services.
Similarly, a twitter handle @SciDipPak to showcase Pakistan’s scientific credentials and achievements has also been initiated.
