The Embassy of Pakistan in Stockholm organized flag hoisting ceremony to celebrate the joyous occasion of 78th Independence Day of Pakistan. Event was attended by community members including professionals, journalists, politicians and Swedish friends. Messages from the President and Prime Minister were read out by Head of Chancery and Trade and Investment Counsellor.
A heartwarming performance by Pakistani children on the iconic song Dil Dil Pakistan and speeches on patriotism enthralled the audience. Pastor Boaz Kamran and his choir from Hallunda Church serenaded the audience with the melodious tunes of patriotic songs.
Ms. Sara Kuka Salam, a local politician of Pakistan origin, felicitated Pakistanis on Independence Day. She encouraged the Pakistani diaspora for making efforts to make their homeland proud through persistent endeavors and hard work.
Greeting the community and Swedish friends on Independence Day, Ambassador Bilal Hayee noted that the joyous occasion of Independence Day calls for introspection and rededication to focus our energies for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Let us resolve, he said, to make Pakistan – a vibrant, inclusive and multicultural state in line with the vision of our founding father Quaid -e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
